US Africa Command's (AFRICOM) Deputy Commander, Lieutenant General John Brennan, US Special Operations Command Africa Commander, Rear Admiral Ronald Foy, and Chargé d’Affaires Jeremy Berndt visited Central Military Zone Commander Lieutenant General Mohammed Musa, Counterterrorism Force Commander Major General Mohamed Zain, Misrata Air Academy Commander Major General Mohamed Rajab al-Qusaybat, and 53rd Brigade Commander Major General Ahmed Hashim in Misrata on Wednesday.
The US embassy in Libya reaffirmed said the delegation had reiterated Washington's support for Libyan efforts to safeguard Libyan sovereignty and unify military institutions and agreed to advance counterterrorism and border security cooperation as well as to increase US military education and professional development opportunities for officers from all parts of Libya.
The military delegation visited Tripoli first and met with the Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, and the Chief of Staff Mohammed Menfi.
