A US delegation has met with USAID partners in Tripoli to explore challenges and opportunities for advancing development, with a particular focus on southern Libya.
Jeremy Berndt, the US Chargé d’Affaires, revealed that he, alongside a team of budget and aid experts from Washington, held discussions on Sunday in Tripoli with USAID partners.
A statement on the US Embassy’s X account said the partners are actively supporting the US strategy aimed at conflict prevention and enhancing stability in Libya.
Berndt said the meeting offered a deeper insight into the obstacles and prospects for progress in southern Libya. He reiterated the United States’ commitment to assisting Libyans in strengthening stability and safeguarding their sovereignty, primarily through initiatives that foster economic development, reconciliation, and effective local governance.
