Victims Organization for Human Rights has called for the immediate release of three sisters kidnapped by the pro-Haftar militia known as the "Kaniyat" in the city of Tarhuna.

The organization said in a statement that on April 5, the Kaniyat militia kidnapped the 38-year-old Rima Milad Harouda -who is pregnant with her fifth child-, in addition to Hawa Milad Harouda and Leila Milad, who are in their forties.

According to the organization, the militia stormed the family's house and opened fire, one of the ladies was wounded as she tried to escape them.

Their whereabouts are still undetermined, while reports of them being tortured in someplace in Tarhuna is of great concern, said the organization.

The organization clarified it had reached out to the brother of the victims Mahmoud Mahmoud Milad Harouda, who has fled the city to Tripoli.

Mahmoud reaffirmed that his three sisters are still being held by the Kaniyat militia despite the rumors released by the later that they are free.

At the conclusion of its statement, the organization put into question "Where are the security services in the city of Tarhuna? Where is the Council of Elders of Tarhuna? .. What is the benefit of having security personnel while women in Tarhuna are living in a state of terror, knowing that they could be killed or kidnapped at any moment," hinting that the security apparatus itself might be involved in the crime.
