Engineering teams have managed to control a water leak in the eastern route run by the Khums station, the Man-made River Authority (MMRA) said on Friday.
The interruption of water supplies was due to a sabotage act on one of the stations feeding the eastern route, a statement by the MMRA said.
The Director of the Al-Hasawneh System of the MMRA said the teams managed to halt the leakage at the station (B/O627) in Al-Khums city without the need to vacuum the water out of the pipelines.
Maintenance operations took consecutive hours of teamwork, as the crew faced difficulties while repairing the damage due to its location in a low-lying area, the authority said.
The MMRA ensured consumers that water would be running in their taps within two days at most.
