Libyan western elders' councils have voiced rejection to dictatorship and military rule, refusing to allow any parties to use the western region for wars.

The councils said in a statement after a meeting in Zuwara on Sunday that Libya needs peaceful circulation of power and preservation of February 17 revolution's principles.

"We reaffirm the need to build a civilian state based on constitution and unified army and police under a civilian authority." The statement reads.

This comes after movements for Haftar's loyalists in west Libya, which many see as an indication of an upcoming war.

Both Misrata and Tajoura in western Libya issued statements rejecting military rule and dictatorship, condemning the UNSMIL's line of policy and support for Haftar.
