Al-Ahly Tripoli football club has achieved a victory over KMKM of Zanzibar at the beginning of its continental participation in the African Champions League.

Al-Ahly scored two goals to nil, during a match in which the Libyan club had complete control, despite the match being held outside its home.

The first half witnessed complete control of Al-Ahly Tripoli, which ended 1-0

The goal scored from the penalty area by midfielder Ayoub Ayyad in the 41st minute.

In the second half, Al-Ahly Tripoli’s Tunisian coach, Fathi Al-Jabal, made several changes, during which substitute Abdullah Al-Arfi scored the second goal in the 66th minute of the match.

Al-Ahly also missed several other chances during the second half.

With this result, Al-Ahly Tripoli is half way to qualify for the next round, and is awaiting the return match on the 17th of this September at Benina Stadium in Benghazi, Libya.
