Al-Swehli has taken the lead at the top of Group B in the first phase of the Libyan Premier League playoffs, sharing the position with Al-Ahly Tripoli after the conclusion of the second round of matches.
The tournament’s current top scorer, Ivorian Fily Traoré, led his team Al-Sweihli to a home victory in Misrata, defeating Al-Ittihad 4-1. Traoré scored two goals, extending his lead atop the scorers’ chart with 15 goals.
With this win, Al-Sweihli reached seven points at the top of Group B, ahead of Al-Ahly Tripoli by a single goal difference. Al-Ahly Tripoli also secured an important win, defeating their visitors Al-Ittihad Misrati 3-1.
Al-Olymbi climbed to third place with five points after their overwhelming 5-0 home victory in Al-Zawiya over Al-Madina.
In Group A, Al-Hilal maintained their lead with seven points despite drawing 1-1 against city rivals Al-Ahly Benghazi in the round’s top clash.
Al-Ahly Benghazi failed to register their first win after also drawing their opening game against Al-Akhdar, who themselves continued to struggle, drawing 0-0 with Al-Tahaddi and remaining fourth with four points.
Al-Nasr retained second place on goal difference behind leaders Al-Hilal, following their 1-1 draw against this season’s surprise package, Al-Sadaqa from Shahat.
