Al-Swehli Volleyball Club

Al-Swehli Volleyball Club have been crowned champions of the Libyan Volleyball League for a record-extending 13th time following a commanding straight-sets victory over Al-Hilal in Tripoli.

The Misrata-based side secured the win in convincing fashion, taking the sets 25-19, 25-19, and 25-22 to wrap up the title on the final day of competition.

Elsewhere, Asarya eased past Afriqi Zliten in a 3-0 sweep (25-17, 25-15, 25-20), while Al-Ahly Tripoli came from a set down to defeat Al-Nasr 3-1 in an intense battle (23-25, 25-12, 31-29, 25-22).

In one of the most dramatic fixtures of the day, Al-Ittihad edged rivals Al-Ittihad Misrata in a five-set thriller. After taking the first set 25-17, Al-Ittihad dropped the next two (28-26, 25-23) before rallying to claim the fourth set 25-17 and clinching the decider 15-13.

Following the conclusion of the league, Al-Swehli topped the final standings with 46 points. Al-Ittihad followed in second place with 34 points, equal with third-placed Al-Ahly Tripoli. Al-Ahly Benghazi came fourth with 32 points.

Al-Ittihad Misrata finished fifth with 26 points, Al-Hilal sixth with 20 points, Al-Nasr seventh with 15 points, Asarya eighth with six points, and Afriqi Zliten last with three points.

The awards ceremony was held at the conclusion of the competition, attended by top sporting and government figures including the President of the Libyan Olympic Committee, Jamal Al-Zarrouq, and Deputy Minister of Sports, Jamal Abu Nawara.
