The Libyan national football team enjoyed a1-0 victory over Rwanda on Friday in the first-leg match of the second round of 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Faisel Al-Badri's penalty in the second half was enough to secure the victory at the Taieb Mhiri Stadium in Tunisia'a Sfax.

The return match will be played four days later on November 17 in Kigali.

The last time Libya faced Rwanda was in May of last year in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The 20 winners from the second round will be divided into five groups of four teams and each group winner will qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
