Libya's football squad booked their place in the group stage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday with a 3-1 victory over Rwanda at Stade Régional de Nyamirambo in Kigali.

The Mediterranean Knights beat Rwanda 1-0 in the first leg match at the Taieb Mhiri Stadium in the Tunisian city of Sfax.

A brace by Mohammed Al-Munir and a goal from Mohammed Al-Ghannodi were enough to give the Knights a ticket to progress to the next final round of qualifiers that start in 2016.

The 20 winners from the second round will be divided into five groups of four teams and each group winner will qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
