The Libyan national football team suffered on Sunday a 2-1 defeat to Cape Verde in their Group 6 clash of the AFCON 2017 qualifiers at the Talai Aljaish (Army Vanguards) Stadium in Egypt.
Carlos da Graca put Cape Verde ahead in the second half and Al-Moatasem Al-Mosrati levelled four minutes from time. Ryan Mendes scored in the final minute to grab the victory for Cape Verde.
The national team lost an easy chance to make victory when fluffed two penalties with Hamdo Al-Masri and Mohammad Zubiya the culprits.
Libya now ranks at the bottom of the group with zero points.
The return match is scheduled for next March.
