Libya’s national football team beat Rwanda in Group 3 on Tuesday 1-0 at Tangier Stadium as part of the third round match of Morocco-hosted CHAN.
Libya thus qualified to the quarterfinals of CHAN 2018 after it finished Group 3 matches second with 6 points, while Nigeria came first with 7 points.
The substitute Al-Motasem Abu Shanaq was the savior of Libya as he scored an injury-time winner at the last minute.
Libya put an attacking performance from the start with many chances to score wasted or defense by Rwanda players, who left CHAN with 4 points in the third place in Group 3, while Equatorial Guinea left with zero points.
Libya will play the first team on top of Group 4 on next Sunday. The group’s top team has not been identified yet, but it would probably be Congo.
