The Libyan Football Federation (LFF) has confirmed Thursday that it is keen on resuming the Libyan Soccer League as it conducted the draw of this 2015/2016 season Thursday evening in Radisson Blu hotel, Tripoli.

The draw resulted in a capital derby, as Al-Itihad will play Al-Ahli in the 11th week of the league, and another derby for Benghazi when Al-Ahli Benghazi plays Al-Naser in the seventh week.

The Libyan Soccer League will kick off on May 15 with 21 teams divided into two groups due to the current crisis in Libya. Group 1 includes 9 clubs from the east, two of which will qualify for the final round, which will be molded on the tournament system. Group 2 will have 12 clubs from the west, south, and central regions, three of which will qualify for the final round.

The last season of the Libyan Soccer League was held in 2013/2014 when Al-Ahli from Tripoli won the title for the 11th time in its history.
