The Libyan Soccer League draw for the season 2017-2018 took place on Friday under the supervision of the Libyan Football Federation (LFF).

The draw was supposed to take place last week but upon calls from eastern Libyan sports clubs - requesting dividing the groups as per districts to become two groups in the west and two in the east - it was delayed for yesterday after the LFF agreed to proceed with the proposal.

The first group of the eastern region included Al-Ahli Benghazi, Al-Hilal, Al-Najma, Al-Tawun, Darnas, Al-Anwar, Al-Gurdabiya and another team to be named later.

The second eastern group included Al-Naser, Al-Akhdar, Shabab Al-Jabal, Al-Tahadi, Khalij Sirte, and Ajdabiya Stars.

The Third group, which included western region's teams, contained Al-Itihad, Al-Sweihli, Al-Shatt, Al-Olymbi, Al-Tarsana, Al-Itihad Al-Masrati and Al-Sharara.

While the fourth group in the west as well included Al-Ahli Tripoli, Al-Madina, Abi Al-Ashahar, Al-Wehda, Al-Mahala, Rafiq and Al-Khums.

All teams will play first and second leg matches so that the top team of each group will qualify for the four-team round in which the team that scores the most points will be the team to hold 2017-2018 title of the Libyan Soccer League.

LFF had previously canceled the 2016-2017 league season and set August 15 as the date on which the 2017-2018 season will kick off.
