The Libyan Football Federation decided to raise five football clubs to the Libyan Football League for 2015/2016 season as those clubs were ranked in top positions in the Second-level Football League for 2014/2015 season.

The LFF explained that the clubs are Al-Mahala, Abi Al-Ashar, Al-Sharara, Al-Taawun, and Shabab Al-Jabal.

The head of the media committee in the LFF, Zain Al-Abideen Burkan, said the decision of making the teams 21 instead of 16 in the Libyan Football League came to make the western ones 11 and the eastern 9 so that the league is divided into two groups, eastern and western.

This decision will go into effect starting this season, which will kick off in March if financial support was provided for the teams, according to the teams’ preconditions.

The Libyan national team’s coach, Javier Clemente, had previously urged the LFF to quicken the return of the Football League’s competitions as the national team’s players need more training and accumulated experience that only comes through playing official and organized matches.
