Al-Ahli Tripoli Football Club said on Saturday that it had sacked the Serbian coach, Branko Smiljanić, after a disappointing draw against Abi Al-Ashar within the Libyan Premier League on Friday.

The announcement came in a brief statement through the club's official page on Facebook.

According to the statement, the club’s management reached a consensual agreement with Branco and the staff accompanying him for terminating the contract.

The Tripoli club assigned its youth team’s Tunisian coach, Ziad Toumi, to temporarily supervise the club before selecting a local coach to take up the task.
