Libya denounces the Holy Quran burning by an extremist in Sweden, the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Thursday.

Libya condemned, on Saturday, the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran by some extremists in the Danish capital, Copenhagen.

The Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives (HoR) has denounced the burning the Quran by an extremist in the Swedish capital, Stockholm, in front of the Turkish embassy.

Sweden has placed itself in the crosshairs after permitting an extremist to burn a copy of the Holy Quran in Stockholm.

Libya is hosting a conference specialized in scripting the Holy Qur’an with the participation of experts and calligraphers of the Noble Quran from 20 Islamic and Arab countries.<

The Foreign Ministry decried Wednesday the extremists in Sweden who burned copies of the Holy Quran, saying such acts constitute a deliberate provocation to Muslim sentiments.
