The first ferry trip between Libya and Turkey set sail from Misrata port heading to Azmir port after 20 years halt.

The Libyan Minister of Transportation, Mohammed Al-Shuhubi, launched the first voyage on Wednesday.

The Ministry said Al-Shububi ordered that the ticket prices be affordable for all Libyans to facilitate their travels to Turkey with the new sealine option.

Al-Shuhubi also said the government in Libya was taking measures in agreement with governments of Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco to launch new ferry lines soon.
