In one of its distorting reports, a pro-Dignity Operation online newspaper claimed that Libya's Grand Mufti Sheikh Al-Sadiq Al-Gharyani is in favor of IS. Narrating Sheikh Al-Sadiq in an old video, originally dates back to 2012, Libya Herald made a big blunder claiming that the Sheikh has said " IS in Derna are popular and not extremists." Ironically, the IS has not been declared yet. IS proclaimed itself to be a worldwide caliphate on June 29, 2014. In the original video, Sheikh Al-Sadiq was speaking about his visit to some cities in the eastern region where he met with Derna's real revolutionaries "Thuwar" who expressed to him that they were working under state authorities to bring stability and justice to the state. The newspaper claimed that "the state" means "Libya Dawn"! Libya Herald also plundered that Sheikh Al-Sadiq's alleged "IS support" was promoted by the beheading of Dignity Operation volunteer Abd-Alnabi Al-Shirqawi by IS militants in the square of Derna's Old Mosque on June 03, 2015. Paradoxically, the video was first published on Youtube on May 26, 2012. Last week, Sheikh Al-Sadiq Al-Gharyani lashed out at Daesh/IS, stating that fighting it is a religious duty. Speaking to Tanasuh TV, he denounced their acts in Derna and Sirte as un-Islamic and falsified IS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi's caliphate claim.
