The Defense and Security Council has held an expanded security meeting to discuss the security and military situation in the border areas linking Libya, Tunisia and Algeria.

The meeting, which was held on Wednesday, was attended by Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, representatives of the Presidential Council Abdullah Al-Lafi and Musa Al-Koni, and a number of senior military and security officials.

The meeting discussed assigning the Border Guard Service and the Ministry of Interior to work to secure the western border crossings, and emphasizing the continued monitoring of the security situation in the western region and the border points, in coordination between the competent agencies.
