The French embassy in Libya's capital, Tripoli, reopened its doors on Monday after seven years of closure.

The reopening came in the presence of the French ambassador to Libya, Béatrice Le Fraper du Hellen, who told reporters in Tripoli that she wanted to boost bilateral relations between France and Libya.

The French President Emmanuel Macron announced the reopening of Paris embassy in Tripoli when he met with the Head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, in the French capital last week.
