Italy will start granting visas to Libyan citizens, and the Libyan side will facilitate procedures for Italian companies wishing to work in the eastern region, says Carlo Batori, the Italian Consul in Benghazi. According to Batori, his country will have a role in the reconstruction of Libya.
The Italian official made his comments at a meeting Sunday in Benghazi with Deputy Prime Minister of the parallel government Ali Al-Qatrani, where they discussed developing bilateral relations and activating the agreements between the two sides, including an accord signed in 2008.
Batori reaffirmed his country's support for all sovereign Libyan decisions that maintain and unites Libya without any external interference and the efforts made towards stability, according to the media office of the parallel government.
