Minister Ali Al-Abed of Labour and Rehabilitation held talks on Monday with the head of the Passports and Foreigners Affairs Department, Major General Youssef Murad, that focused on regulations related to expatriate labour in Libya.

The meeting touched upon the inspection campaigns launched by the ministry in cooperation with the Passports Investigation Department to determine the number of foreign workers in Libya and regulate their legal affairs as per the applicable procedures.

Al-Abed praised the efforts made in this regard, which the ministry said: "contributes to tracking violators and provides national elements with greater employment opportunities."

The two sides also reviewed the mechanisms for granting residency procedures, entry, and work visas after the activation of the (Wafid) platform, in addition to discussing entry procedures for Egyptian workers recruited for working on the Third Ring Road in Tripoli.
