UNIDO

The Minister of Industry and Minerals in the Government of National Unity, Ahmed Abu Hisa, has presented a proposal for opening an office for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Libya, during a meeting with the Chief of the Arab Regional Coordination Division in UNIDO, Hanan Hanzaz, on the sidelines of the 20th UNIDO General Conference.

The minister invited Hanzaz to visit Libya to closely examine the capabilities available in Libya, reviewing organization's role in supporting the industry and minerals sector through the projects proposed within the Ministry's work plan, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Industry and Minerals.

The statement expected that the organization's presence in Libya would help it closely identify the needs of the industrial sector and benefit from UNIDO's experience and services directly.
