Sarraj Dagman, a political activist, passed away while detained in the prisons of the internal security forces loyal to Khalifa Haftar in Benghazi.
Relatives of Dagman mourned his death on social media on Friday after he spent more than six months in prison.
The activist was arrested in October of last year along with his companions Fahti Al-Baaja and Tareq Al-Bishari without specific charges being brought against them.
According to a statement by the former Minister of Interior Ashour Shuail, the reasons behind Dagman's arrest date back to a workshop organized by the Centre for Strategic and Future Studies in Benghazi, where participants discussed the collapse of the Derna dam.
