The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) announced on Monday that it had facilitated productive discussions in Benghazi between the Advisory Committee and the Joint Committee (6+6), which was formed by the House of Representatives and the High Council of State to draft parliamentary and presidential election laws.
In a statement on its Facebook page, UNSMIL noted that members of the 6+6 Committee provided detailed answers to the Advisory Committee’s questions. The mission also praised the active participation and support demonstrated by the 6+6 Committee throughout the day.
The Advisory Committee held its fourth meeting on Sunday at the UNSMIL headquarters in Benghazi, its first in the city after three previous meetings at the mission’s Tripoli office since February.
