The United Nations (UN) acting envoy to Libya, Stephanie Williams, met with the Vice President of the Presidential Council (PC), Ahmed Maiteeq in Istanbul to discuss the expected outcomes of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum, which is due to begin its first round on November 9 in Tunisia.

The UN mission indicated in a series of tweets that Williams stressed the necessity to increase the productivity and effectiveness of all Libyan government institutions.

The two sides jointly stressed the importance of re-establishing ties between all Libyans, in order to chart an electoral course based on the constitution within the shortest possible time frame to help end transitional stages, with a view to moving Libya to a new political stage of stability.
