UN deputy head for political affairs, Stephanie Williams stressed the importance of adhering to the UN-backed National Conference outputs, pledging "This conference will not create a new body that would relapse the country into a spiral of conflict."

Williams explained during a meeting with member of the Presidential Council (PC) Abdul Salam Kajmanthat this forum will be within a definite timeline and with clear and visible outputs.

For his part, Kajman said that the security situation in the south requires the cooperation of all parties, stressing the need to accelerate the selection of a military figure to take command of the military zone in the south.
