The European Union is in talks with Libya's Ministry of Foreign Affairs to strengthen the country's ability to manage its borders.
Al-Taher Al-Baour, acting head of Libya's Foreign Ministry under the Government of National Unity, met with EU Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando, and Jan Vychital, head of the EU Border Assistance Mission (EUBAM), to explore expanding cooperation between Libya and the EU across multiple sectors.
In a statement issued by the EU mission in Libya, Ambassador Orlando emphasized the importance of enhancing Libya's border management capabilities.
According to the Foreign Ministry, discussions also covered joint programs and activities, as well as political and economic issues.
Both parties reiterated their support for the UN mission's efforts to promote comprehensive stability in Libya.
