Presidents of GNC Nuri Abu Sahmain and Tobruk Parliament Aqailah saleh are due to meet Wednesday in Sultanate of Oman to finalize an agreement to form a government of national unity.
Both parliaments have already rejected UN-imposed government of Sirraj, which was signed by unauthorized members from the two sides in the Moroccan city of Skhirat last week, and called for a Libyan-Libyan dialogue instead.
The meeting of both presidents is the second within a week. The first meeting took place in Malta on December 15.
The GNC has formed committees to meet counterparts from Tobruk to discuss a unity government within the framework of a Libyan-Libyan dialogue, which is backed by the majority of GNC members.
For his part, Tobruk Parliament President Aqailah Saleh has held extensive meetings with eastern tribes and civil society institutions to seek support for the Libyan-Libyan dialogue.
Protests were also held on Friday against the UN-imposed government in Tripoli and Misrata.
