The Minister of Transportation of the Libyan Government of National Unity, Mohammed Al-Shahoubi, and the Tunisian counterpart, Rabih Al-Majidi, signed Wednesday an agreement to increase flights and to "link the Libyan and Tunisian airports," in addition to the preparation of the Ras Ajdair border crossing, the launching of new destinations, and a sea route between the two countries, Hokoometna platform reported.

The two ministers expressed their satisfaction with the progress witnessed by the bilateral cooperation process, and the ways to enhance them in all field of transport, hailing the progress witnessed by the relations between the two countries, and the positive results of the bilateral meetings, according to the statement of the Tunisian Ministry of Transportation.

The two sides also discussed ways to improve the conditions for the transit of citizens of the two countries and goods through land border crossings, expressing their keenness to cooperate to enhance investment opportunities.

They also agreed to exchange experiences from the Tunisian expertise in the field of training in maritime transport, ports, civil aviation, land and rail transport, in addition to developing a joint practical vision for the establishment of a port station for food security in order to process and store foodstuffs for the benefit of the two countries as well as neighboring sates.

Dbeibah arrived in Tunisia on Wednesday morning on an official visit and was welcomed by his Tunisian counterpart. The spokesman for the Government of National Unity, Mohammed Hammouda, said that the visit came in response to an official invitation from President Kais Saied. He was accompanied by the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Head of the Audit Bureau and a number of ministers.
