The National Commission of Human Rights- Libya (NCHR) has voiced its anger after knowing that some irregular migrants were provided expired foodstuffs by humanitarian organizations.
The Fact-Finding, Monitoring, and Documentation Department of the NCHR had learned that relief teams from an international organization and a UN organization working in the migration field distributed on June 3 expired food aid to a group of irregular migrants after disembarking from a vessel at the Al-Shaab Port in Tripoli, the NCHR said on Facebook.
The committee said these actions show utter disregard for the migrant's health and safety, warning against the recurrence of such acts.
It cautioned to take action if such violations reoccur and to refer the case to the Public Prosecutor and hold the responsible party accountable.
