The Chargé d’Affaires of the Philippine Embassy and Head of Mission Elmer G. Cato has met with Deputy Prime Minister Abdulsalam Kajman to discuss the conditions of the Filipino workers and employees in Libya.

During the meeting on Wednesday, Cato requested the assistance of the Presidential Council in addressing the concerns of members of the Filipino community.

The Libya Observer has learned from the head of the Philippine mission that one of the major issues was the PC decision regarding the currency adjustment and how it would affect the dues of those working in public hospitals.

For his part, the Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged the significant role of the Filipino workers in the health and oil sectors in Libya, emphasizing that he would take action and follow up on their worries.

The Filipino diplomat had earlier requested the assistance of Deputy Prime Minister Ahmed Maiteeq to find solutions to problems confronting the Filipino Community.
