Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah has discussed with the High Committee for the Resumption of the Treaty of Friendship and Partnership between Libya and Italy the results of its latest work.

During a meeting in Tripoli, the committee presented a visual presentation of the general position of the treaty and the results and recommendations reached by the committee since its launch last August.

The meeting also discussed developments of the Libyan-Italian Joint Committee meeting held last month in Italy, and what the two sides reached regarding the contractual procedures for the Emsaed-Ras Jedir road project.

Dbeibah instructed the committee to take full advantage of activating all provisions of the treaty and to intensify efforts to communicate with the Italian side to implement its obligations for the benefit of the government and the Libyan people, according to the media office of the Prime Minister.

Libya concluded a Treaty of Friendship and Partnership with Italy on August 30, 2008, within the framework of developing special bilateral relations and demonstrating good intentions, to close the file of the damage caused by Italy during the era of its occupation of Libya.
