The Department of the Injured Affairs of the Health Ministry in Tripoli said two have been killed and ten others injured in the attack on the National Oil Corporation in Tripoli on Monday.

The media office of the department said the injuries were either directly hit by the exchange of fire or have inhaled too much smoke causing them to suffocate in the building.

Eyewitnesses said the attackers blew themselves up inside the NOC in downtown Tripoli, while sources said the Special Deterrence Force (SDF) and other security forces managed to gun one of the attackers down.

“We ringed the NOC building and together with other security forces we made sure the surrounding and inside of the NOC building was clear.” SDF spokesman Ahmed Salim said.

Meanwhile, SDF said on Facebook that they found body parts of the suicide bombers and they were “of black complexion,” adding that they had evicted the building and that investigations were underway.

Likewise, the National Safety Department managed to evacuate employees from the building using firefighters’ equipment to reach top floors.

The Petroleum Facilities Guard (PFG) mourned one of its members Abdelhafid Dardour as he was defending the building against terrorists.
