The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aqilah Saleh, has stressed during his meeting with UN envoy Abdoulaye Bathily “the need for forming a unified government in the country whose primary mission is to hold elections,” according to the HoR media center. 

During the meeting, he held in his office in the city of Qubba, Saleh discussed with Bathily the latest developments of the political situation in Libya, especially the efforts made to hold presidential and parliamentary elections, most notably the findings of the Joint Committee (6+6) for Preparing Electoral Laws.

For his part, the UN envoy explained that “more efforts and consultations must be made to achieve the electoral entitlement, in response to the desire of the Libyan people.”
