The head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Abdoulaye Bathily, held talks with the Canadian Ambassador to Libya, Isabelle Savard, on Saturday to discuss the recent political situation in Libya.

"We renewed the call on major actors to commit to dialogue, in good faith, to resolve outstanding issues pertaining to the holding of elections," Bathily wrote on his X account.

In a separate meeting with Jeremy Burnett, the Charger of the US Embassy in Libya, on Saturday, Bathily urged the five key parties in Libya to name their representatives and engage in a constructive dialogue that leads the country towards elections.
