The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General (SRSG) Abdoulaye Bathily, on Tuesday, convened a meeting with a group of lawyers at the Libyan Bar Association HQ in the capital, Tripoli, to discuss the possibility of having them develop an enforceable legal framework for the elections.

On his Twitter account, Bathily said he met with lawyers from various regions of Libya, who shared their insights and observations on the draft legal framework for elections that was prepared by the 6+6 Committee.

"We discussed how they can play an active role as lawyers and citizens of Libya in creating an implementable legal framework and contributing toward a conducive environment for inclusive national elections," the SRSG tweeted.
