The UN envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily has said that he had agreed with the Tunisian Foreign Minister, Nabil Ammar, on the necessity of a meeting of Libyan leaders to reach a consensual track for holding elections for peace and prosperity in their country.

This was expressed in Bathily’s post on X platform, at a time when the features of his latest initiative to resolve the Libyan crisis remained unclear.

According to the post, the UN envoy expressed his gratitude to the Tunisian government for hosting and supporting the United Nations Support Mission in Libya. He also expressed gratitude for its role in supporting unity, peace and stability in Libya, as he put it.
