The National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced on Tuesday the restart of the water desalination plant in the flood-hit Derna after undergoing maintenance work.
In a Facebook statement, the NOC highlighted its teams' efforts to restore water supplies to the area after torrential floods damaged the network, putting the facility out of service.
On September 11, the head of the NOC, Farhat Bin Gudara, ordered the formation of an emergency committee to provide the necessary support and humanitarian aid to the cities affected by Storm Daniel in eastern Libya.
