The Government of National Unity (GNU) has declared the first three days of the month of Shawwal (the days of Eid Al-Fitr) as an official holiday, with the addition of a fourth day.

The government said in a statement on Sunday that the fourth day of Shawwal (the fourth day of Eid) will be a paid day off for public sector, except for facilities with urgent humanitarian and security services, while preserving their right to obtain work compensation for this day in accordance with the provisions of the law.

Sighting the crescent of Shawwal will be next Thursday (29 Ramadan), so that Friday will be the first day of Eid or the completion of the blessed month of Ramadan.
