The Government of National Unity (GNU) has revealed that the government expenditures on subsidies from the beginning of the year until the end of May 2022 reached 9,609,039,416 dinars.
The drug subsidies amounted to 1,179,999,996 dinars, electricity and public lighting subsidies 350,000,000 dinars, public hygiene support 157,009,417 dinars, water and sanitation support 95,833,335 dinars, fuel provision 3,326,666,668 dinars, and the wives and children’s grant 3,499,530,000, according to the government’s Facebook page.
The government announced earlier that it had formed a committee to study replacing the fuel subsidies with cash subsidies directed to citizens.
