The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Presidential Council declared on Sunday that the Italian judiciary has given immunity to the bank accounts of Libyan Embassy in Rome under international conventions.

The ministry said in a statement that an Italian court ordered last week to lift the freeze on those accounts, saying that there was no basis for the lawsuit filed against the Libyan Embassy in Rome.

It is worth noting that the Italian bank, UBI Banca, in which the Arab Libyan Foreign Bank has a share in it, froze in January the accounts of the Libyan Embassy after an Italian company claimed debts against the Libyan state.
