Italian Defence Minister Elisabetta Trenta emphasized that stability of Libya is a priority for the security of the Mediterranean Sea, according to Italian news agency (AKI).
Speaking at the military airport in Rome on Monday, Trenta spoke of the "immigration crisis that poses important questions about security and European cohesion".
This comes a week prior to the start of the Palermo International Conference on Libya, which will be organized by Italy on 12 and 13 of this month and is expected to have a broad participation of states interested in the Libyan issue.
