The UN Special Envoy in Libya, Jan Kubis, has noted, during his meeting with the Speaker of the Tobruk-based House of Representatives, Aqila Saleh, the latter’s support for holding a parliament session in order to give confidence to the new government.
During their meeting in the city of Al-Qubah, eastern Libya, on Wednesday, Kubis praised Saleh’s role in resuming the political process and contributing to the success of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum, UNSMIL said in a statement.
UNSMIL also noted that both sides emphasized the importance of adhering to the date of holding national elections on December 24, 2021.
