Officials in the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defense, and Interior of the Government of National Unity have discussed with experts at the European Union Commission the issue of combating illegal immigration, and the negative phenomena accompanying it.
This came in a meeting via video link with the participation of the Director of the European Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdul Rahman Khammada, and the head of the European Union Mission to Libya, Nicola Orlando, according to the Foreign Ministry’s statement on its Facebook page.
The meeting concluded with the need to join efforts and develop the mechanisms and tools used to combat illegal immigration in line with the current political and security conditions witnessed by the Sahel region of Africa, and the resulting challenges and difficulties.
