The Amazigh, Twareg and Tabu in Libya have expressed their rejection of the referendum on the draft constitution, issued by the constitution drafting body, as they considered it illegitimate.

The Supreme Council of the Amazigh of Libya and representatives of the Tabu and the national movement of Twareg youth called the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to work towards guaranteeing the rights of their individual entities.

They also stressed the necessity to establish a constitutional basis to ensure the effective participation of the Libyan indigenous peoples on the basis of consensus, according to the statement.
