The Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Council, Ahmed Maiteeq, held discussions with the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergay Lavrov, in Moscow on Friday on the present situation in Libya.
Maiteeq also discussed the same matters with the Russian Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister, Mikhail Bogdanov.
A statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Maiteeq held both meetings separately with Lavrov and Bogdanov respectively, adding that it was confirmed during both meetings that the ceasefire in Libya, initiated six months ago, has prepared the groundwork for talks on the political solution between all Libyan parties.
