The Presidential Council's Head, Mohammed Menfi, said during a meeting with the UN envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, that the recent Security Council decision to extend the mandate of the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) reflected the international will to support stability.
Bathily expressed his appreciation for the steps taken by the Presidential Council to consolidate the foundations of stability and to achieve national reconciliation. He also praised the work of the High Finance Committee and its support for the electoral process with national ownership, in partnership with the United Nations and the states that are parties to the Berlin process.
The UN envoy also pointed out the importance of mobilizing international support to deal with the Derna disaster by calling on a number of countries and organizations to contribute to providing humanitarian and relief aid.
