The new European Union Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando, announced the start of his mandate in Libya on Sunday, expressing his gratitude for representing the Union in Libya.

Orlando said on X platform, “Today I begin my mandate as EU Ambassador to Libya. I am grateful and honored by the privilege of representing the European Union in this country”.

At the beginning of last September, the Government of National Unity approved the appointment of Italian diplomat Nicola Orlando as European Union ambassador to Libya, succeeding Spaniard Jose Sabadell, after it initially refused to appoint him.
